About Us

The class at Castlemilk has been going strong for a number of years and has a dedicated core of students, though we are always on the look out for new people to train with!

We practice once a week on Wednesday nights between 7:20pm and 8:50pm (the sports centre closes at 9pm), so why not come along and join in?

About the Instructor

I strongly believe that the practice of aikido is something that can benefit everyone. Through regular practice we can learn to improve our self-discipline, awareness, and develop a calmness under pressure that can be invaluable in our busy modern lives.

I began practising aikido at the age of 16 in November 2001; around a year after Sensei Andrew left the Ki Federation of Great Britain and formed Aikido UK.

Under the watchful instruction of Sensei Andrew I trained regularly and, at Sensei's direction, in March 2006 I began my teaching career with the junior classes at Barrhead.

Since then I have had the opportunity to teach classes in Paisley, Newton Mearns, Castlemilk, and Kilmarnock.

Currently I instruct classes in Kilmarnock and Castlemilk, while continuing to train in developing my aikido under the instruction of Sensei Dunne.
